Is it just me, or is it incredibly quiet since Brands got the job?
I would have thought there would be all kinds of news about recruiting, or signings etc. When is the signing days for wrestlers? Has it passed?
Anyway, I would have though the real wrestling fanatics on this sight would be posting right and left.
Tell me, what is the NEWS ?

I think everyone is waiting to see who Brands picks for his staff. My bet is that he'll bring 2 ex-Hawks from Va. Tech--Schwab and Hand. As for the recruits, it sounds like the guys who already signed are not changing their minds--despite the new competition. It sounds like a sure thing that the 3 Iowa preps plus Metcalf from Mich. are all transfering in from Va. Tech. Along with the red-shirts like Morningstar and Beatty, that will give the Hawks lots of depth. Still don't know exactly what Gable will be doing--but it sounds like he'll act as a hitting instructor in baseball or a "swing" coach in golf--advising specific guys on techniques, rather than being a co-coach. I think Brands plans to be here full time by the last week of April. Reply |

Tickets....Get your tickets....ISU vs. Iowa wrestling at Carver-Hawkeye arena. Bet THAT will be as close to a sell-out as they have had in the past decade. Reply |
